CONGRATULATIONS! If you're reading this, that means you made it to FRIDAY! Moment of honesty: I originally drafted this blog on Wednesday, but we had so many exciting end-of-week events we wanted to share, that we pushed it back. Wednesday was #NationalDayOfEncouragement and it got us thinking:If it seems like there's a Holiday for just about everything, you're right. I mean, there IS always something to celebrate. Even the small victories. The holiday encouraged people to honor the special day by making deliberate acts of encouragement or reassurance to those closest to them. Last week we received a bittersweet call. A family was losing their canine companion to old age and wanted to capture her spirit before having to put her down the next day. We of course rearranged everything so we could get them into the studio that evening.
Luna, Hope, & their Human were best friends from the start. A few days after this shoot, Hope crossed The Rainbow Bridge. While we mourn her loss, we are so honored to have been part of capturing these special moments her dad will treasure forever. We find comfort in knowing he will always have his memories, his love for her, and these images to look back on.
Hope's dad said during their session that his only regret is that he hadn't done this sooner. Our point is, you don't have to wait for special occasion or holiday to justify Pet Portraiture. There is beauty to celebrate in the simplicity of their everyday life and we LOVE getting to showcase what makes them one-of-a-kind! Wednesday we wrapped shooting at The Vanderpump Dogs Adoption Center! That evening, Rescued Vanderpups & their parents were invited to celebrate their new lives post- adoption. There were food, drinks, and even Lisa, Ken, & daughter Pandora. The Vanderpump's celebrated the amazing news of their H.Res. 401 passing on the House floor. This resolution they've been working on for years urges all nations to outlaw the dog and cat meat trade.
Charlie & Raymond loved being a part of the festivities as both their official photographer, but also as a Vanderpup Rescue Pawrent!
Meet Tucker!Charlie & Raymond adopted Tucker from The VP Dogs Foundation over a year ago. Charlie was at the center photographing the available dogs for adoption when a precious pup caught his eye. He scooped him up and well, the rest is history.Raymond vividly remembers when Charlie pulled up in the drive-way with their newest furry family member. He took their two other dogs outside to introduce them to their sibling, and it was love at first sight. Thank you Simba for fur-ever changing our lives & leaving your paw print on our hearts! The Fall brings lots of new, exciting television shows. On Monday, we tuned in to the Season 9 Premier of Showtime's Shamless to cheer on our client Emma Kenney! Her pups were celebrating the launch in true Hollywood style:
ABC's How To Get Away With Murder Season 2 premieres September 27th. We can't wait to have the hit show's Conrad Ricamora and his Pug Wilbur in the studio for their shoot next weekend! Stay tuned! One more exciting event to share before we part!Last night we had the honor of attending the Wags and Walks Annual Benefit Gala with our dear friends from MODERN BEAST. We also ran into @DeafDal, @Chilberg, & @lacorgi from @petsonq:
"Wags and Walks is different than many other rescues because they do not select dogs based on their size or age or even their breed. They hand-pick their dogs based on their temperament and their likelihood to thrive when placed in the proper home. Similarly, they do not select adopters based on how many hours they work or whether they live on a multi-acre property over a condo. They know that, like amazing dogs, loving families come in all shapes and sizes. Their goal is to find an adopter whose home, family and lifestyle are a perfect fit for a particular dog." It's always a fun time when we come together to support the cause we're most passionate about! Next up on our charity event calendar is the Goldie Palooza:
Hope to see you there! Have a PAWsome weekend,Miss Hollywoof x Charlie Nunn Photography
